Driveways 4 You transformed an old concrete driveway at Monalea Grove, Firhouse, Dublin, replacing the worn and discoloured surface with a new gravel driveway featuring natural stone framing, granite planting area risers and a natural stone pathway leading to a new granite entrance step.
Project Overview
This driveway installation at Monalea Grove in Firhouse, Dublin replaced an ageing concrete surface with a gravel finish and coordinated natural stone and granite detailing.
The work brought together the driveway, pathway, entrance step and planting area, creating a more attractive approach to the property.
Removing the Existing Concrete Driveway
The old worn and discoloured concrete surface was removed before preparation began for the new driveway.
With the existing surface cleared, a suitable sub-base was installed to provide the foundation for the new gravel driveway and adjoining paving.
Natural Stone Driveway Framing
The new gravel driveway was framed with natural stone paving and blocks, creating defined edges and an attractive contrast with the gravel surface.
The stone framing helps bring the different parts of the driveway design together, connecting the gravel finish with the pathway and entrance detailing.
Granite Risers Around the Planting Area
Complementary granite risers were installed around a planting area, providing a defined boundary alongside the new driveway.
The granite detailing was coordinated with the entrance step to give the front of the property a consistent finish.
Natural Stone Pathway and Granite Entrance Step
A new natural stone pathway leads from the driveway to the entrance, providing a paved route to the front door.
The pathway meets a new granite step framed with granite risers. These features complement the surrounding stonework and gravel, creating a carefully finished entrance to the home.
